Chancel Choir
The cornerstone of the music program at Linden Heights
is the twenty-five member Chancel Choir, directed
by Gary Van Essen. Made up of a combination of trained
and amateur musicians, the choir performs a variety
of modern and classic SATB choral repertoire for the
weekly 11 a.m. worship service and for concerts and
special events. Some of the choir’s favorite composers
include John Ness Beck, John Rutter, Craig Courtney
and Dan Forrest. The choir is open to anyone, age
16 and up without audition. The Chancel Choir rehearses
on Thursday nights from 8:00 p.m. until 9:15 p.m.

Joyful Sounds Handbell Choir
The 3 octave Joyful Sounds Handbell choir is directed
by Deirdre Duda. The choir rehearses weekly on Thursday
nights from 6:30-7:45 and performs monthly at the
11 a.m. service and for special events. Reading music
is a plus, but is not a requirement.
Band of Ages
The Band of Ages is a concert band, made up of students
and adults. The choir arranges rehearsals as needed
to play for special events and services.
Praise Singers
The praise singers meet to rehearse on Sunday morning
before the 9:15 a.m. service and lead singing at that
service.
