Welcome to the family

Linden Heights United Methodist Church is a community of prayer, love, and forgiveness committed to leading persons to a living relationship with Jesus Christ and reaching out in acts of compassion and service.

Mission & Outreach

Baltimore city: Our brothers and sisters in Baltimore City need our help after the violence that did so much damage.  The churches in the city are responding in a big way and invites all UM churches in the conference to participate.  Ames UMC, John Wesley UMC & Metropolitan UMC are giving out toiletries and food that would normally be purchased at a CVS.  Many in the community have disabilities or income issues that make traveling to other stores difficult if not possible, and therefore they do not have access to much needed items.  Please see the insert for a list of needed supplies.  Items can be brought to Linden Heights and put in the grey bin at the entrance to the church.
They are asking for donations of mouth wash, diapers, baby wipes, depends undergarments, pain killers, nonperishable breakfast and lunch foods and other items that you would normally purchase at a CVS. They are also requesting that churches put together UMCOR health kits that they can hand out to individuals in need.  Information on how to assemble the health kits can be found below.

Health Kit:  1 hand towel 15 x 25 inches- 17x 27 inches.  Kitchen, cleaning, and microfiber towels not acceptable.  1 wash cloth.  1 metal nail file or nail clippers, no emery boards please.  1 bath size bar of soap, 3 oz or larger.  Do not remove from packaging and no Ivory or Jergens please due to their moisture content.  1 adult size toothbrush in its packaging.  1 tube toothpaste in its packaging.  6 common sized household Band-Aids. 1 gallon sized Ziploc bag.

Assembly instructions:   Lay out the hand towel flat on a table. Lay the washcloth flat in the center of the hand towel. Place all remaining items on top of the washcloth. Fold over the sides of the hand towel to cover all of the items. Fold over one end of the hand towel so that it covers all of the items. Grasp the bundle of items tightly and roll over the remainder of the hand towel tightly. Place the tightly rolled bundle in the plastic bag. Remove as much air as possible and seal the bag.
